Description

These soft and buttery Fluffy Potato Rolls are the perfect addition to any meal, offering a delightful melt-in-your-mouth experience that will impress your guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium starchy potatoes (like Russets)
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup whole milk (warm)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Potatoes: Peel and boil the potatoes until fork-tender (about 15-20 minutes). Mash until smooth and let cool slightly.
  2. Activate Your Yeast: In a small bowl, mix warm milk with active dry yeast and sugar. Let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  3. Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, blend mashed potatoes with melted butter and salt. Stir in the frothy yeast mixture and gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead Your Dough: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Let It Rise: Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  6. Shape and Bake: Punch down the risen dough, divide it into equal pieces, shape into balls, and place on a greased baking sheet. Let them rise again for another 30 minutes while preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Serve Warm: Enjoy your fluffy rolls fresh from the oven with butter or your favorite spread!
