Description

Experience the creamy, cheesy goodness of Swiss Chard Gratin—an indulgent yet nutritious dish that turns humble greens into a comforting delight.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups Swiss chard, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Sauté the Swiss Chard: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about one minute until fragrant. Add chopped Swiss chard and cook until wilted but still vibrant green, approximately five minutes.
  3. Prepare the Cream Mixture: In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream, half of the Gruyère cheese, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Layer half of the sautéed chard in your prepared baking dish. Pour half of the cream mixture over it. Repeat with another layer of chard followed by the remaining cream mixture.
  5. Top with Cheese: Sprinkle any remaining Gruyère cheese and grated Parmesan generously on top.
  6. Bake to Perfection: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown on top.
  7. Serve: Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving to let layers settle.
