Description

Indulge in this creamy, cheesy spinach gratin that combines fresh flavors and textures for the ultimate comfort dish. Perfect for family gatherings or cozy dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1/2 cup shredded Gruyère cheese (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about one minute). Add chopped spinach in batches, stirring until wilted. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before squeezing out excess moisture.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, half of the shredded Gruyère cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Fold the sautéed spinach into the creamy mixture until fully combined. Pour everything into your prepared baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle breadcrumbs evenly over the top along with the remaining shredded Gruyère cheese.
  6. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown on top. Serve warm as a delightful side or vegetarian main dish.
