Description

Indulge in the warm, flaky goodness of this Rustic Apple Galette, featuring tender cinnamon-dusted apples wrapped in a charming crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (cold, diced)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 45 tbsp cold water
  • 4 cups apples (peeled, cored, and thinly sliced; Granny Smith or Honeycrisp recommended)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar (adjust based on apple tartness)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour and sugar.
  2. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Gradually add cold water until a dough forms. Shape into a disk, wrap in plastic, and chill for at least 30 minutes.
  4. While the dough chills, prepare your apples by peeling, coring, and slicing them.
  5. Toss sliced apples with sugar and cinnamon in a bowl until evenly coated.
  6. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Roll out chilled dough on a floured surface into a rough circle (about 12 inches in diameter).
  8. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  9. Arrange apple filling in the center of the dough, leaving about two inches around the edges.
  10. Fold edges over the apples to create a rustic border.
  11. Brush exposed crust with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar.
  12. Bake for 45-50 minutes until the crust is golden brown and apples are tender.
