Description

Indulge in the warm, comforting flavors of ginger molasses cookies, perfect for cozy evenings or festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsulfured molasses
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare Cookie Dough: In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the egg and molasses, mixing until well combined.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, ground ginger, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until fully blended.
  4. Mix Ingredients: Gradually add the dry mixture into your wet ingredients. Stir until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
  5. Shape Cookies: Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets about two inches apart. Optionally roll each ball in granulated sugar before placing them on the tray.
  6. Bake: Bake in your preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes or until edges look set but centers remain soft. Allow them to cool slightly before transferring to wire racks.
