- 1 package chocolate cake mix (15.25 oz)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup water
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, and water. Mix until smooth.
- In another bowl, beat together softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until creamy and smooth.
- Pour half of the chocolate batter into the prepared baking dish.
- Spoon dollops of the cream cheese mixture over it, then pour the remaining batter on top.
- Sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts generously over the top of the cake.
- Bake for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean (unless you hit some gooey cream cheese).
- Allow to cool slightly before cutting into squares.
