Description

Experience the joy of the holidays with this rich and creamy Yule log sheet cake, perfect for festive gatherings and sweet celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • Additional powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a jelly roll pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs until frothy. Add vanilla extract and mix well. Gradually combine wet mixture with dry ingredients until just blended.
  4. Pour batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for about 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  5. Allow the cake to cool slightly before flipping onto a clean kitchen towel dusted with powdered sugar. Roll up the cake tightly in the towel while warm to maintain its shape.
  6. While cooling completely, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  7. Carefully unroll the cooled cake and spread an even layer of whipped cream over it. Optionally add any fillings like fruit preserves.
  8. Roll up the cake again without the towel and slice off both ends at an angle for presentation.
  9. Dust with additional powdered sugar or drizzle melted chocolate before serving.
