Description

Indulge in this delightful Churro Saltine Toffee that combines crunchy Saltine crackers and rich caramel, topped with cinnamon sugar for an irresistible treat perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 40 Saltine crackers (enough to cover a baking sheet)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the Saltine crackers in a single layer without overlapping.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the unsalted butter and light brown sugar. Stir continuously until it comes to a boil and bubbles for about three minutes without stirring.
  3. Once bubbling, pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the arranged Saltines. Spread gently with a spatula to ensure every cracker is covered.
  4. Place the baking sheet in your preheated oven and bake for five minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
  5. After removing from the oven, sprinkle chocolate chips on top while it's still hot. Allow them to sit for one minute before spreading into an even layer.
  6. In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar with ground cinnamon, then generously sprinkle this mixture over the melted chocolate layer.
  7. Allow your Churro Saltine Toffee to cool completely before breaking it into pieces for serving.
