Description

Cheesy duchess potatoes combine fluffy potatoes and rich cheese, baked to a golden perfection. This elegant side dish elevates any meal with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs starchy potatoes (Russets or Yukon Golds)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 egg yolks
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Potatoes: Peel and cut the potatoes into chunks. Place them in a large pot, cover with cold water, and add a pinch of salt. Boil until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Mash It Up: Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the butter and heavy cream, mashing until smooth and creamy.
  3. Cheese Please: Stir in the cheddar, Parmesan, egg yolks, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Pipe Your Potatoes: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Transfer the potato mixture to a piping bag and pipe swirls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Bake Until Golden: Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  6. Serve Up Delight: Let cool slightly before serving warm.
