Description

Indulge in the rich and creamy flavors of Shrimp and Crab Au Gratin, a comforting seafood dish with a golden, crispy topping that will impress at any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh shrimp, deveined
  • 1 cup lump crab meat
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk (or half-and-half for extra creaminess)
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink, about 3 minutes. Gently fold in the crab meat and heat through before removing from heat.
  3. In another saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Stir in flour until smooth to create a roux.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk until thickened (about 5 minutes). Remove from heat and mix in cheddar cheese and garlic powder until melted smoothly. Add Old Bay seasoning.
  5. Fold cooked shrimp and crab into the cheese sauce until well coated. Pour this mixture into your prepared baking dish, smoothing the top evenly.
  6. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the top and bake for about 25 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
