- 1/2 cup basil pesto
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll one sheet of puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface and roll it out slightly larger.
- Spread basil pesto evenly over the rolled-out puff pastry.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over half of the pesto-covered pastry, leaving space around the edges. Add grated Parmesan on top.
- Fold the other half of the puff pastry over the cheese layer and gently press down.
- Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut out a tree shape with branches from the pastry.
- Transfer your tree to the baking sheet and brush with egg wash (beat egg and water together).
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
