Description

Experience a burst of flavor with these 30-minute Cajun Shrimp and Grits Bowls. Spicy shrimp paired with creamy grits makes for the perfect comfort food!


Ingredients

  • 1 cup quick-cooking grits
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add a pinch of salt.
  2. Gradually whisk in the grits. Stir occasionally until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the butter and cheddar cheese until melted and creamy. Keep warm.
  4. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
  5. Add shrimp and Cajun seasoning; sauté for about 3 to 5 minutes until shrimp are pink and opaque.
  6. Spoon creamy grits into bowls and top generously with sautéed shrimp.
  7. Sprinkle chopped green onions on top before serving.
