- 1 cup quick-cooking grits
- 4 cups water
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add a pinch of salt.
- Gradually whisk in the grits. Stir occasionally until thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the butter and cheddar cheese until melted and creamy. Keep warm.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Add shrimp and Cajun seasoning; sauté for about 3 to 5 minutes until shrimp are pink and opaque.
- Spoon creamy grits into bowls and top generously with sautéed shrimp.
- Sprinkle chopped green onions on top before serving.
